Spokane CPR Classes
Spokane CPR/AED training and certification classes are available through the Health Care Training Center (HCTC) of Spokane. Health Care Training Center offers the following two courses through the American Heart Association, Heartsaver First Aid CPR/AED and BLS for Healthcare Providers. Classes are held at our state of the art Institute OR we can come to your business, facility, office, or location of your choosing. Our CPR/AED class rates are based per individual. Group rates are available for groups of 5 or more students (Bring your friends and family!). CPR Certification cards are included in the price. Our Spokane CPR classes and their costs are noted below. New classes for 2015 have been scheduled for open enrollment starting Mar. 5th, Mar. 19th, Apr. 2nd, Apr. 16th, Apr. 30th, May 14th, May 21st, Jun. 4th, Jun. 18th, Jul. 9th, Jul. 23rd, Aug. 6th, and Aug. 20th, of 2016. BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR / 1st AID
Healthcare Provider CPR is for individuals who work in a healthcare setting.
This course is for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Classroom Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. Course includes: • Critical concepts of high-quality CPR • The American Heart Association Chain of Survival • 1-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child and infant • 2-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child and infant • Differences between adult, child and infant rescue techniques • Bag-mask techniques for adult, child and infant • Rescue breathing for adult, child and infant • Relief of choking for adult, child and infant • CPR with an advanced airway
Heartsaver CPR & AED
Heartsaver CPR/AED is for individuals who have limited or no medical training that need CPR training for employment, regulatory, or other requirements.
This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid, CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. This course also teaches adult CPR and AED use.
Pediatric Heartsaver First Aid CPR & AED Certification

Health Care Training Center is now offering a new First Aid CPR/AED course called Pediatric Heartsaver® First Aid CPR/AED which was designed by the American Heart Association last fall. Washington State recently changed the laws as they apply to daycare and child care providers pertaining to First Aid and CPR. The law (shown below) states that all licensed child providers must have “age appropriate” first aid and CPR certification. Pediatric Heartsaver® First Aid CPR/AED was designed by the American Heart Association to meet the regulatory requirements for child care workers in all 50 United States. The course teaches child care providers and others to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. The Course is 3 hours in duration and costs $40 per person.
Minimum Licensing Requirements for Child Care Centers
What are the requirements regarding first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training?
- You must ensure that at least one person of your staff with a current basic standard first aid and age appropriate CPR certificate is present with each group of children in your center at all times. For example, if you have six different classrooms with different groups of children, you must have a staff person in each room trained in first aid and CPR.
- The person providing the first aid and CPR training must be knowledgeable about current national first aid and CPR standards. The trainer must:
- Be in the medical field;
- Be in the emergency field such as an emergency medical technician or firefighter;
- Complete a “train the trainer” course from a reputable program such as the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, National Safety Council or labor and industries;
- First aid and CPR training must be updated as required on the card or certificate received by you or your staff person. The first aid and CPR cards or certificates must have a date of expiration.
