In the event of a sudden call-in of Medical staff that needs to be covered and there is no staff to do so, the vendor must be able to provide the appropriate, qualified staff within 2 hours CNA, BLS certification, and computer literate. Incumbent will float to Med/Surg Ward, Community Living Center (rehab, long term care and hospice), Stepdown, and Emergency Department. Working under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or an LPN, the CNA provides care to patients in the clinical setting by observing and reporting changes in the patient’s condition, providing personal care and Activities and Daily Living (ADL), monitoring Intake and Output (I&O), taking vital signs, performing blood glucose checks, assisting with feeding and ambulation. The incumbent demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills with patients, families and members of the disciplinary team. Ward 4- Med/Surg Unit provides general medical and surgical care. Patient populations include: orthopedics, general surgery, urology, ophthalmology and general medicine. The majority of patients have secondary chronic medical diagnoses. ICU – 4 bed intensive care unit caring for higher Med/Surg acuity patients, some requiring ventilation and/or vasoactive drips frequently with pulmonary and/or cardiac disease. Advanced Care Unit-10 bed stepdown unit for patients requiring telemetry. CLC – 30+ bed facility that specializes in gerontology, restorative rehabilitation, respite and hospice care. Patient populations include: cardiopulmonary conditions, multiple sclerosis, brain injuries, cancer and patients with conditions that affect their ability to complete activities of daily living. The patient population is likely to present with chronic medical conditions especially related to bowel, bladder, skin, mobility, safety and pain issues; change in mental status and/or functional decline. Patients’ average age group ranges from 20 to 70+ years, primarily males. Experience required: At least one (1) year experience in acute care and long term care settings, most of which occurred in the 2 years. Tour of duty: Night/Day/Evening (8 hour tours 2400-0800; 0730-1600; 1530-2400) Qualifications: Evidence of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, as appropriate * A valid, unencumbered license is required to practice as a CNA, with verification of licensure from each state of licensure.
